In accordance with the ongoing efforts to improve air quality in major city areas across the globe, the European Parliament are about to launch their EUR 4 emissions standard, and the city of London is one of the leading cities in the UK and Europe who will adopt the new standard in the near future. But because of Go Man and Van’s commitment to environmental issues, we are already prepared, and have in fact prequalified to meet the new standard that is being introduced as from the 3rd January 2012. The low emission zone in London concentrates on trying to reduce the amount of PM being introduced into London’s atmosphere. PM (which stands for Particulate Matter) refers to the small particles of dust that are pumped out through a vehicles exhaust system. These particles then get breathed into the lungs and cause and aggravate various medical conditions including asthma, bronchitis, and many other heart and lung diseases. EUR 4 replaces the earlier restrictions introduced back in 2008. Whilst the previous restrictions were significantly effective in reducing the percentage of PM in London’s air quality, the new standard is aimed at reducing that contamination even further.
The fact that our fleet is already compliant with the new EUR 4 regulations stands us in good stead, but it has other advantages for us too. From a psychological point of view, our clients can be satisfied that by using go man they are themselves promoting environmental friendly removals technology, but not only that, they are also saving money. The fact of the matter is that because go man’s fleet has already qualified within the new standard, it means that we won’t have to pay the new daily penalties that will be levied against all vehicles registered prior to October 2006. This saving is passed directly on to their customers.
